…and play she will with her new Blythe, EEEEEEEKS!!!! Yes, she was the very important package that arrived yesterday.
MEET PAIGE!

Isn’t she the sweetest little thing? She’s a Takara Neo Blythe Star Dancer. I literally can’t stop looking at her, can’t stop playing with her hair, and I can’t stop dressing her up in all the old vintage Barbie and Daisy clothes that we retrieved from storage last night. I can’t stop. I really can’t. Ever since she arrived, she’s been the centre of my world, she’s ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT….which is a good thing really as she’ll be a nice distraction from missing MrNin over the next few months whilst my immigration gets processed *sigh*.
But look at that picture, don’t you just LOVE her already? Don’t you just want to pick her up and have a good old fashioned play? I do, and that’s what I’m going to go back and do right now (it’s almost bedtime here, so I need to get her into some pyjamas).

For those of you who haven’t heard of Blythe, she was originally around in the early 1970s, but over the recent years she has seen a huge retro undergound revival, thanks to various books that were published about her by Gina Garan. You can read all about here here and here. And if like me, you’re completely sucked in by her awesomely irresistible cuteness, you can see more pictures of her on my flickrstream. Tee hee!
Born to wear pretty dresses and Barbour jackets and skip through muddy English fields in a pair of Hunter wellies, Nin is now a 30-something British Ex-Pat living in the urban wilds of the San Francisco Bay Area. She likes cake and chocolate and is on a quest to find the perfect Stateside cream tea.

I’ve never heard of Blythe, but I was more of a kid of the 80s than the 70s. Anyway, I did have a doll with that kind of eyes, and I remember rocking her up and down, just watching her eyes open and close and trying to figure out how that worked.
You are just about the cutest thing ever. Dolls to fill the void of your new husband - it’s genius!
He he he! Star Dancer was my first Blythe too (three months ago). Isn’t she soooo cute? She photographs really well, but she will want some sisters *very* soom to keep her company. You’ve been warned!

Right! I have a few things to say here.
1. This was like, SO not what I expected.
2. She is absolutely beautiful!!!! Wow!
3. I hope she doesn’t become a victim of a Mattel recall in 6 months time, grrrrr …
4. I love her cowboy boots with the tassels.
5. You’re going to be a fun Mom someday!
6. She is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!
7. Oh wait. I already said that. But it bears repeating.
why do i feel slightly responsible ?
YAAAAAAAAY for you , she’s here, finally !!
Y’know, I was sure that box was some new optics for your camera. So much for that! BTW, does this newly arrived young lady have a Facebook account of her own now?
LOL! I’m completely besotted with her! Yes, I fear that ‘one’ may eventually become ’some’ but for now she’s going to be a treasured only.
I hope to the heavens that she won’t be some part of a dreadful recall. I’m already really annoyed at the Mattel one as when I went to town today to look at things for her, much to my display the shelves of dolly things were all empty. Oh well, I’ll just have to get crafty :o)
Err, and yep, she might just have her own facebook account *blushes*
Fellow TIBer here! I love that picture of Paige! She is too cute!
I have a StarD as well and I think that she is one Blythe that is so beautiful that I actually love her stock. I sometimes wish I’d kept her stock.
Anyway… Paige is super-adorable! Can’t wait to read more on her.
So funny! Maybe your sister could make her some nice aprons and wrap dresses. Oooh, that would be a fun photo shoot! BTW-tell her that I think her work is beautiful.
i love her! I dont own any because my children would steal them
Yay for Blythe dolls!! I LOVE Paige! She is so preeeetty! xx
