Early this morning, one empty road…

And one little Blythe waiting patiently at the kerbside, kicking her little heels in gleeful anticipation…

Oh Paige! Are you going to wait there all day?

“Yup” squeaked a determined little voice.
But you’re very early and it might be a little while yet… Why don’t you come in for a cup of tea? I’ll make it nice and milky, just how you like it.

Paige thought about it for a little bit. Screwed her little nose up, and then thought about it a little bit more.
How about a cup of tea and some yummy biscuits, hmm? I’ve got those special ones you like! I’m sure we won’t miss anything out here. It probably won’t happen until later this afternoon.
And with that, Paige jumped off the kerb, ran back into the house and had tea with me in the kitchen.

And she had the yummy biscuits she likes too.

…nom nom nom…
Later on in the day, something appeared in the empty road…

What could it be?

It looks like A LITTLE PINK CAR! And a super cool one at that.
But wait, it looks like it’s going to turn…

Could it be…? Do you think it might ….??

*GASP* YES! LOOK!! It’s turning towards our housey!
Quick girls, come to the front door! Come and see! Come and see!!

And Paige and her sister Eliza came to the door just as the little pink car that was super cool came brumming down the path to the house.

“Hi! I’m Ava, I’ve come all the way from Verity’s house” squeaked a new little voice to the others.
“Welcome Ava!” the others squeaked back, “you’re going to have so much fun here at Peachy Hollow”

“And we’re going to have some fun with your super cool HAWT WHEELS too”

And that’s how pretty little Ava with her super cool car came to live with us here at Peachy Hollow.
Born to wear pretty dresses and Barbour jackets and skip through muddy English fields in a pair of Hunter wellies, Nin is now a 30-something British Ex-Pat living in the urban wilds of Silicon Valley in the San Francisco Bay Area. She likes cake and chocolate and is on a quest to find the perfect Stateside cream tea.

Welcome, Ava!
Your photos are to die for, and I can’t wait to see what kind of artistic shots you will mastermind if you have kids. Really, we feel that the only reason we had kids was so we could dress them in funny clothes and giggle.
YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!!!! WELCOME AVA!! You are one lucky little Blythe, you will have so much fun with your family!!!
…and then there were 10…
That’s so cute! I really enjoyed that, and I’m quite jealous - I want a blue haired girl in a pink car to come to my house too!
Aww, that was SO CUTE! I love the license plate and her blue hair - she is so unlike her sisters! This is my favourite post, it was such fun.
(ProfMrNin, my Richard saw your comment and did a Blythe head-count, he says “You’re the MAN! TEN DAUGHTERS!!!???)
Hee hee this is brilliant. I laughed out loud as I saw the car driving up. So glad she arrived safely and that the roads were clear for her journey.
I love your blythe pictures! They’re always so creative and cute! When I was little I also had a car like that, it think we still have it… *somewhere*
Hello Ava! Well done on reaching 10! BTW - DrMrNin should be relieved - I thought you were getting a PAM
aw, such a cute story! welcome new cutie!
Hi Ava! I hope you enjoyed your trip - I think you’ll like Peachy Hollow very much! =)
love the new look and the new girlie x

No nooooo, not a PAM (that’s a VERY POSH girl, for those who aren’t familiar…and FLISS HAS ONE the lucky girl).
Melissa, I was wondering if you might like to ask your Richard if he would think it would make DrMr EVEN MORE of the MAN if he were to have even more daughters? I’d be most interested to hear his gentleman’s perspective on this. Most interested indeed. Not that I would use this information to influence DrMr in any way at all, but I might let it slip out in conversation
Thanks everyone for your kind words about Ava. She was a little tired today as it was quite a long drive for her, but she continues to settle in well. The others are fascinated by her hair. And they have enough roadtrips planned to last them to the end of the year!
Certainly … you see he’s very impressed at how prolific your little family is. And as we operate on a “Points System” here, he feels that the Good Professor must have, like, a MILLION points for allowing the family to grow so nicely. I shall ask him his opinion … if he knows what’s good for him he will advocate several sisters in addition to the current ten … …
Oh, and … I really hope there will still be Blythes around in ten years time - that’s approximately how long I shall have to wait for one. If I get one now, she will be annihilated by my 2-year-old. ))shudder((
Hi Nin … thank you for visiting me, I’ve had great fun visiting your site. Fabulous pictures, and I see like me, you have a love of Oxford.
I’ll be back to see you again!
Oh my, Ava is so adorable, and i have to say im slightly jealous of her ride ! Good think i checked PeachyHollow at work today, or i would have four little girls jumping around my desk asking for one of them too.
Hello Ava, it’s so nice to meet you.
Welcome Ava! My new Blythe arrived the other say as well (will post pix in my blog soon.) I am loving your blog/pix! Thanks so much for stopping by my place!
Hugs!
Sandy
Ahh, that explains it, a points system. I just checked out of curiosity and it WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT but it appears that Blythes actually GAIN you points. We now have like A GAZILLION and Paige has A SQUILLION in her own right anyway for being a Blythe with gold hoop earrings. Fancy that, eh? There’s nothing to stop me moving everyone over and we could become neighbours
And yes, Oxford is BRILLIANT. I think the girls are planning to go back there as a group sometime soon. I mean now that they have their own transport…..
Ava says hello back to everyone who greeted her. She’s having a marvellous time here so far! Thankyou x
Eeeee! How cute! I love how Ava drove up in such adorable wheels. You tell a wonderful story, Nin!
